Promising Artists Exhibition
This exhibition is part of GPAA's Promising Artists program designed to give current high school students and recent alumni of the program the opportunity to showcase their work and experience the process of participating in a professional, juried exhibition.
JUROR
Avanti Herczeg is an academic advisor in the Department of Art and Art History at Wayne State University. In that role she helps students explore possible careers in art, as well as, prepare resumes and portfolios to take to the job market. She is also part of the team that organizes and juries the Tri-County High School Exhibition at WSU with Director of Galleries and Special Programming Tom Pyrzewski. Tom will be working with Avanti on GPAA's 7th Annual Promising Artists Exhibit as well.

Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Artistic Discovery Contest is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in our Congressional District.

SUMMER CLASSES for High Schools Students grade 9 - 11

Our Precollege program helps you build your portfolio and prepare you for college. So step into something totally new — something you have never tried before, or enhance what you already know about your favorite subject. Choose a studio concentration and tackle a project. Study for three weeks and create a knock-out portfolio. You’ll meet new people, have the option to live on campus, learn from professionals, receive feedback from admissions counselors and participate in a final exhibition of student work. Through the CCS Precollege Summer Experience, you will earn 3.0 college credits, prepare college-level work, develop your interests and talent, and build your portfolio. The Summer Experience program is perfect for high school students who have completed freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year. Resident and commuter enrollment is available.
