BELOW I HAVE LISTED A VARIETY OF PHOTOSHOOT THEMES.
You can choose which photoshoot themes you wish to complete and the order for which you complete them.
DUALITY
A duality is a situation in which two opposite ideas or feelings exist at the same time. Have you ever felt both happy and sad at the same time? Or anxious and excited? These are examples of duality in our everyday life. But there are SO many ways you can represent duality. Use photography in order to depict a visual representation of duality. Create a contact sheet of 20 images and edit 5 of these images from this photoshoot.
GROWTH
Growth is organic. Sometimes growth is forced. Sometimes growth is earned. We can see and experience various forms of growth in our daily lives. Use photography in order to depict a visual representation of growth. Create a contact sheet of 20 images and edit 5 of these images from this photoshoot.
TELL ME A STORY
Consider how cinema is storytelling. An average movie has 24 frames per second and those frames are still images - photographs. Photography is storytelling. Consider how image clues in setting, props, lighting, and gesture can help indicate depth and narrative behind an image. Use photography in order to depict a visual representation of story to be told. Create a contact sheet of 20 images and edit 5 of these images from this photoshoot.
FUTURE
What does the future hold? What do you want from your future? Use photography in order to depict a visual representation of future concepts. Create a contact sheet of 20 images and edit 5 of these images from this photoshoot.
The mask found between the rocks, which is suggestive of littering, can be seen to bring to question the social change that the pandemic will actually have. Will the pandemic encourage social change, or will it be ‘washed up’ as another part of history we did not learn from? The child holding the masks explores the relationship that future generations will have with the pandemic and whether they will inherit a lost future, or whether our generation will ensure that positive social change occurs in order to prevent this. INNER SELF/REFLECTION
What characteristics help define who you are? What aspects of your personality are important to you? What is something that someone might not know about you at first glance? Use photography in order to depict a visual representation of your inner self. Create a contact sheet of 20 images and edit 5 of these images from this photoshoot.
PHOTOGRAPHER HOMAGE
Identify a photographer that inspires you and create a photoshoot in honor of that. You are paying respect to the photographer as they inspire a form of process exploration in your own work. Ultimately you are creating a photoshoot that is about the photographer's style and how you can approach an aspect of their style your way. Create a contact sheet of 20 images and edit 5 of these images from this photoshoot.
LOST
What happens when something becomes lost or forgotten? Use photography in order to depict a visual representation of lost. Create a contact sheet of 20 images and edit 5 of these images from this photoshoot. Be sure to add your contact sheet and edits to your virtual journal with a caption/title. Remember to think outside of the box and use your personal voice.
